Blue Earth

At Bellbrae we are proud to offer Blue Earth to our students to encourage personal growth, mindfullness and positive participation using teamwork and cooperation.

The Joy and Power of Movement

Bluearth takes an approach to active living that goes beyond traditional sport and education models.

We care less about competition, and more about positive participation experiences that develop skills and motivation to embed lifelong healthy habits for Aussie kids to play, jump, run and generally be more active. This is key to reversing the predicted dire health outcomes and to improving educational outcomes.

Our work is honed through the expertise of a team of internationally recognised experts in human movement and sports sciences.

Almost 20 years of work has resulted in health, social and behavioural benefits for kids who have participated in Bluearth programs.

Bluearth has brought the joy and power of movement to more than 400,000 students in 1,400 schools around Australia.

The Blue Earth Approach

A unique approach to movement, driven by process rather than outcome.

We believe that education occurs best through ongoing development where the aim is not a specific ‘end’ but to experience, enjoy and grow throughout the process.

We are driven by our mission to deliver a program where inclusion and learning take place through pure experience, without consideration of an outcome such as winning or who is best to worst.

This learning environment encourages intrinsic motivation, autonomy and exploration. We deliver activities that incorporate movement and mindfulness to build important foundational skills; increasing confidence and improving learning outcomes. These components work together to build and support children’s physical, social and emotional wellbeing.

Our programs offer a spectrum of guided movement and activity from high energy dynamic games to subtle breathing practice and self-reflection.

Our approach is built around 6 key elements:Mitch with our Grade 2 students

  • Coordination and agility
  • Skill activities
  • Movement challenges and games
  • Dynamic movement control
  • Moving in the environment
  • Core movement

Our program is aligned with the World Health Organisation’s model for health promoting schools;

a model the Australian Government Department of Health and Ageing supports.

We map our programs against each state and territory’s physical education curriculum and the national Health and Physical Activity Curriculum.

We work closely with educators to tailor our programs to meet individual school needs.
